Emotional closeness

This article is very interesting:

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/12/26/opinion/26dunbar.html

Especially this:

"Emotional closeness declines by around 15 percent a year in the absence of face-to-face contact, so that in five years someone can go from being an intimate acquaintance to the most distant outer layer of your 150 friends."

Also, the internet changes the way people communicate and social communication has become less effective.

I find it sad that people are constantly on their phones on FB, Twitter, etc. even amongst a set of friends during dinner. Really sad. I'm afraid that people may end up being really insensitive to face to face communication and end up interacting with their mobile devices instead.

I'll admit, I try to be conscious of this myself!
