Time for change?

Finally took the initial steps to move out. I love my flat now. Its huge. Warehouse, loft style, corner flat, high ceilings, huge windows, plenty of space, but... it just doesn't make sense financially. After a year and a half of living in such a nice place, its time to start putting that hard earned pound sterling to other things besides rent!

I mail my lease termination letter tomorrow and submit the credit check for a potential new rental. Its easily half the size of my place now, but the cost savings is too hard to pass up. Check out my fotki to see some pics I took today when I came to see it!

Its further out from the city, and I will have to take the train in each day, but its a welcome change. Change is good I think. I wanted to live near the west end, but its just too expensive!

We'll see how it goes and I should know by the end of the week if its definite! Despite the whole hassle of moving, I welcome the change of a different part of the city!

Happy Shrove Tuesday or Pancake Day!

Pancake or Shrove Tuesday is the equivalent of Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday in America.

weird.

Its best to have pancakes (not American pancakes, but what I call crepes) with Lemon and Sugar on this day.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Ah yes, another lovely holiday spent alone. =)

No worries though!

Sadly, I remember the last time I spent Valentine's Day with a significant other. It was 6 years ago. Sheesh.

I did, however, went on my first blind date ever. Good ol' online dating never fails. But I'll write about that later.

Amsterdam was fun yet again. Its amazing going there a handful of times and having different experiences each time with different people!

Anyway, I've been bad at updating this, and I'm losing readers because of it, so its my fault! In any case, Happy Valentine's Day.

And as for my post from last year, no progress on the "dating scene" Couple dates, but nothing to write home about.

Friends and Football

oh bears. you break my heart. maybe next year. but fulham, you stole my heart, when can we see each other again?

In any case, it was a really fun weekend. There's nothing like friends back home coming to visit. I don't know what it is. I'm a totally different person when I'm around friends back home. Its this strange "natural high" and I revert back to my goofy, corny, happy self.

We even went to an actual Football match! We went to watch the Fulham Football Club take on New Castle! An experience that was well worth it! We sat in the home side facing the 2nd half goal. So all the scoring too place right in front of us! By the end of the match, we knew all the songs and various chants! One chant being "USA!! USA!!" (There are three Americans in the team, one being McBride who scored!) What's ironic is that you can't take any alcohol into the stands! You only have a little section to drink, and have to stay "within" the yellow box or else you get in trouble! =)

Its been a long time since I had a really all-around "fun" weekend in London, and this was one of them. Very memorable, exciting, and outright hilarious. Hope to repeat again next weekend by visiting a friend in Amsterdam! Third time is a charm!
