Less than a week.

Oh my god. I'm not going to be here in a week. I won't be able to indulge myself in this fast food nation. So to celebrate my departure I've been eating fast food the past few weeks. My salad binge has all but disappeared and I'm stuffing myself with Bacon Cheeseburgers, General Tso's chicken, greasy fries, hearty steaks and prime rib, chipotle burritos, complex carbohydrates and anything that America is known for, and the key to making us one of the fattest countries in the world!
Because you know what? London food sucks! At least from my experience. I ordered chicken and ribs on my last trip there and I laughed at my plate because it was the size of an appetizer. The chicken wings were small and thin and the ribs could have used a lot more meat in them. Oh well, at least there's the sights. =)

So one last week. 6 days to be exact. All major milestones have been hit. Place is rented, car is sold, stuff is all moved out, immigration papers sorted, all debts paid off, not to mention "closure" with some relationships. =)

A fresh slate and a new beginning. What lies ahead I'm not sure, all I know is that I'm going to miss friends and family a lot, as well as all the grease that rolls down my hands when I bite into a portillo's cheeseburger. yum.

So it begins... Going away dinner with cousins

So 10 days. Had a going away dinner at Maggiano's with the family. Awesome food,
5 course meal and the waiter Raul hooked it up. Extra appetizers and dessert. My cousin Ann said it best when she said: "This is the best meal I've ever had." =)
I delegated each course to 3-4 cousins so everyone took part in the whole meal.
Good times, great eats.

So much to do still. Movers are coming in 5 days have I haven't prepared for it. I have to start figuring out what to bring with me the first month. I realized that I won't even have my Mac Mini the first month since it will be shipped.

So the goodbyes have started. As suspected, nothing too emotional, knowing that I'll probably be back during the holidays. 4 months away shouldn't be that bad. It still hasn't hit me yet that I'm leaving. If it has, I haven't felt it yet. Maybe it will hit tomorrow when a guy comes from Minnesota to look at my car. He has a check written for it, and its just a matter of him taking interest. I guess once he drives it away and I find myself running after it will then I'll realize this is for real.

2 weeks and counting..London, Paris and Prague.

So two weeks from now I will be in the plane enjoying hopefully a first class upgrade. *fingers crossed* Right now I'm flying business class on British Airways and the past few times I've been lucky enough to score a first class upgrade. Flying first class in unbelievable. My latest itinerary says "First Class Upgrade" but I'm not sure if I "have" a first class upgrade, or I'm "waiting" for one. Who knows, but either way, I'm still lucky.

I still can't believe this is all happening. There is so much to do but the list is slowly getting checked off. I have another potential buyer for the car. He's coming this weekend from Minnesota and he forwarded his itinerary, so that's a good sign.

My tenant and I are going to have a walk through in the next couple of weeks, and I think she recently signed up for online bill pay, so hopefully I'll get the rent deposited directly into my account! Still working on getting a painter and the cleaning lady. The movers are coming on the 24th, so everything is supposed to happen after that. Painter, cleaning lady, then carpet shampoo guy!

I'm finding it harder and harder to be more productive at work since the move is getting closer and closer. The latest thing today was buying tickets to PRAGUE! I can honestly tell you nothing about Prague, but I hear its beautiful! I'm starting to do my research now and I'm sure I'll have an update here on my travels. So the next month is going to be pretty crazy!

Moving to London, hitting Paris with my mom and sis, then off to Prague. All in a matter of a month! Life is good and I've been blessed with such great opportunities.

3 weeks and counting..

The next three weeks are going to be pretty crazy. The main milestones are all done, except for the selling of my car. I thought it would have been sold by now, but the purchaser from New Jersey fell through. He said he had the check and everything, only for me to find out that he got stuck in Houston because of a buyer. He sold his Porsche and the guy that bought it had his check bounce. Oh well. Back to the drawing board.

Finally made an announcement with a mass email. I figure everyone already knew anyway, so might as well make it official. Reality is starting to settle in now with my move: my work permit was granted and its on its way, my place is rented out for September and the year, and my mom and sister have tickets to visit the first week I'm there.

Whew.. what a ride so far. And I'm not even there yet! Now if I can only sell this car...
